CreO Curriculum and 4 training modules for VET teaching staff validated.
Before the end of 2019, the CreO project came to the end of one of its decisive phases: the drawing up of the curriculum and the knowledge that VET training cycle teaching staff on CCI-related courses need to acquire to help their students to prosper in the world of industry. This knowledge was divided into 4 training modules:
- Module 1: The mentality of advanced manufacturing sector businesses + General overview of current trends in the manufacturing sector.
- Module 2: Virtual and augmented reality in Industry 4.0.
- Module 3: Additive manufacturing and 3D printers in Industry 4.0.
- Module 4: Graphic design for marketing in Industry 4.0.
Module 1 aims to familiarise teaching staff with the reality of the advanced manufacturing sector by clarifying what it is, how it fits with Industry 4.0, and the characteristics of businesses that manufacture products in this way. In addition, there is a review of the industrial revolutions that have taken place and concepts such as digitalisation and digital transformation within the sector are clarified. The last two units in this module go into detail about the trends and the mentality of advanced manufacturing businesses with a view to highlighting the opportunities they offer to CCI students within Industry 4.0. Despite these companies having to respond to challenges that are different from those in the creative sector, they must also face up to shared global challenges.
The unit dedicated to virtual and augmented reality in Industry 4.0 explains the difference between these concepts and outlines their development over time. The module goes into depth about both realities, outlining the stages of creation for each of them as well as the techniques, tools and processes used, and the applications of virtual and augmented reality in industry.
The third module offers knowledge related to the processes, materials, and software used as well as explaining areas where additive manufacturing and 3D printing can be applied. It also analyses the benefits and limitations of both types of transformation within Industry 4.0 in comparison with traditional manufacturing.
The last teaching staff training module covers marketing. Topics covered include its principles, trends and strategy, corporate identity and its visual representation through branding, communication channels and innovative approaches for improving internal communication processes and information flows within organisations.
All of these materials were verified last November in Bilbao by two experts from each country represented by the bodies that are involved in the CreO project (Spain, Portugal, Austria, and Slovenia). They will be made available to interested organisations and professionals through the online platform specially designed for this project: CreO Virtual Learning Environment. This is a virtual, online learning space available in 5 languages (EN, ES, DE, PT, SL) where instructors and businesses will be able to acquire competencies that facilitate interaction between the creative industry Vocational Education and Training ecosystem and the world of business and industry.
At present, the project is continuing to develop training materials for industrial businesses, designed to facilitate the integration of CCI sector students into their organisations during their work placements as part of their training.
